Fuji IX GP is a condensable glass ionomer restorative cement.
Advantages: easy to condense glass ionomer for filling posterior teeth with high abrasion resistance; does not require the use of a rubber dam; it is characterized by spontaneous adhesion to dentin and enamel, without the need for etching and the use of a bonding system; does not require the retention shape of the defect, allowing for economical preparation of tissues; can be used with metal matrices for better shape; single-stage fillings, without the need to use the layering technique; excellent biocompatibility; good contrast on x-rays.
Indications: the most commonly used glass ionomer for filling in the world. It is a conventional, chemically cured glass ionomer with a hard plastic consistency that does not stick to tools. When properly mixed, it is very easy to use when filling large cavities. These properties make Fuji IX GP an ideal material for filling class V, I and II cavities in both adults and children, and as a base and core build-up. It is also used under composite and porcelain inserts; in the sandwich technique with a composite, single-visit or deferred, depending on the symptoms.
