Gluxodent is a liquid for rinsing the root canals.
Indications:
Root canal irrigation fluid, recommended for use during any endodontic treatment. Flushing the canals removes the pulp debris and dentine filings formed during the preparation.
It is especially recommended during:
- re-endodontic treatment of teeth when there is a suspicion of E. faecalis or C. albicans infection,
- in the case of non-healing inflammatory changes in the periapical tissues,
- after open treatment,
- in people allergic to sodium hypochlorite,
- in teeth where there is a high probability of pushing the rinsing solution beyond the apex of the tooth root,
- when filling the canals with sealants based on composite materials.
Chlorhexidine digluconate, contained in Gluxodent, does not affect the soft tissues or the smear layer of the tooth canal.
Procedure:
Introduce the GLUXODENT fluid into the root canal using a syringe with a needle set so that the stream of fluid is directed at the canal wall (preferably with a needle with side perforation) or using sound and ultrasound devices.
The needle should be inserted into the canal to a depth approximately 1.5 mm shorter than the working length and the solution should be applied ensuring its proper outflow from the canal. When rinsing, use at least 2 ml of solution when changing the tool to a larger one; a total of about 10-16 ml of the preparation per one root canal.
Rinse the canal alternately with other means intended for rinsing the canals.
GLUXODENT contains chlorhexidine digluconate, therefore sodium hypochlorite should never be used immediately after rinsing or before rinsing with GLUXODENT, as a brown precipitate will form.
Between the use of these two preparations, the canal should be flushed with other flushing preparations
. The following sequence of flushing solutions is recommended:
1. 2.0% – 5.25% sodium hypochlorite solution (Chlorate) 2.
15% – 18% EDTA solution (Endosal)
Gluxodent
