Intelligent Dentin Rebuilding Material SDR – is the first and only semi-fluid composite for posterior teeth that offers the possibility of creating layers with a thickness of 4 mm.
Quick application technique based on SDR technology, reduced contraction stress by 60% and self-leveling properties are a real breakthrough in effective conservative treatment of posterior teeth.
The latest semi-fluid SDR composite is intended for use as a thick layer underlay for composite fillings in the posterior region. It can be applied up to 4mm thick at one time. The possibility of single-layer application of large portions of the composite is a significant breakthrough in shortening the treatment time. Although the whole concept sounds quite simple, it is based on very important and innovative properties of the material intended for this purpose.
Increased polymerization depth:
The main advantage of the semi-fluid composite is the possibility of polymerizing it in a layer up to 4mm thick. SDR exhibits such a remarkable property thanks to the innovative initiation of the polymerization process and its optical features, which additionally enhance the penetration of light into the material.
Special performance characteristics:
SDR offers true convenience and ease of use. Being a material with semi-fluid characteristics, it can be quickly applied in large portions because it quickly adapts to the internal configuration of the defect without any need for post-application modeling.
In addition, the material shows a remarkable ability to automatically create layers (self-leveling) and after a few seconds it creates a uniform “base” type foundation for the subsequent application of the filling composite. It requires virtually no additional manipulation. Without the unique rheological properties of this material, it would not be possible to fill the cavity with a large amount of composite at once and at the same time ensure optimal adaptation to the entire surface of the cavity. The comfort of work is also ensured by the possibility of using SDR in combination with any bonding system and any composite for the reconstruction of the enamel layer.
Reduced shrinkage stress:
The technology used in the SDR composite ensures a unique course of the polymerization process. In the course of this reaction, the shrinkage stress is greatly reduced and it increases slowly, which determines the slower dynamics of the course of individual polymerization phases. Therefore, the final value of the shrinkage stress is as much as 60% lower compared to other commercially available composites. This has an extremely beneficial effect on the quality and durability of the adhesive bond between the material and the tooth tissue.
