- TheraBase Ca is a dual-curing, self-adhesive, calcium release liner.
- Fluoride free
- The release of calcium by TheraBase Ca generates an alkaline pH that promotes the vitality of the pulp.
- Using THERA technology, TheraBase chemically bonds to the tooth structure and releases and recharges calcium ions.
- TheraBase release of calcium generates an alkaline pH that promotes the viability of the pulp.
- It is a double-cured material that polymerizes even in deep fillings where light cannot reach.
- It can be used in open or closed sandwich fillings, but must be covered with a different composite on the chewing side.
- TheraBase Ca is stronger and more durable than other base materials, glass ionomers and resin modified glass ionomers.
- In addition, it is radiopaque, which allows easy identification on radiographs, ensuring quick and effective diagnostics.
- It contains MDP monomer that ensures a strong bond to the dentin.
- Therabase can be used successfully replacing products such as Fuji II LC (GC), Activa Base Liner (Pulpdent), Endosequence BC Liner (Brasseler), Vitrebond Plus LC (3M ESPE) etc.
- NOTE: TeraBase cannot be used directly on the pulp, if the pulp is exposed, first apply TheraCal LC, light cure and then cover TheraBase Ca and complete the restoration preferably with bioactive material.
- Combining Theracal LC and TheraBase double the release of calcium ions!
- Example:
- Calcium release from Theracal LC under Filtek filling over 7 days = 133.82 µg / cm2
- Release of calcium from Theracal LC in combination with TheraBase over 7 days = 243.93 µg / cm2
- Unique Benefits:
- Continuous release of calcium ions
- Self-adhesive, no bonding system required
- High compressive strength, absorbs shocks and stresses from occlusal forces without breaking
- Opaque to X-ray, allows for identification on X-rays and effective diagnostics
- Automatic mixing, dual syringe provides consistent mixing for immediate administration with zero or minimal waste of material
- Double-hardened material that will cure even in deep fillings that cannot be reached by light
- Continuous release of calcium ions
- Clinical Benefits:
- Within minutes, it produces an alkaline pH (pH = 11 *) which supports the vitality of the pulp.
- Contains the adhesion promoter MDP monomer for a reliable and optimal bond to dentin.
- THERA – means therapeutic – this applies to all Bisco materials from Thera-Family (Theracal LC, Theracal PT, TheraBase, Theracem Ca)
- Packaging: 8 g syringe (enough for approx. 29 applications)
